Board of Directors
Alonzo is the executive director of JBT (Just Been Tested) Foundation, Inc. He is a Brooklyn native and a graduate of Wesleyan University. Alonzo created JBT to reduce health care disparities among minority and urban populations. Despite the progress that already has been made in reducing these disparities and the outreach that already has been achieved, Alonzo saw that there was still a huge gap in health care services for minorities, youth, and urban at-risk populations. What better place to start closing that gap than in his own community of New York City? Alonzo is dedicated to creating enhanced strategies to access and engage those most at risk by focusing on sexual responsibility, nutrition, and fitness. Much of health care is shifting towards a preventive model. With the prevalence of mobile technology, we can improve access to preventive health care tools as well as engage the community by motivating young adults to implement healthier lifestyles. Alonzo’s goal for JBT is to link wellness strategies and communities through the use of technology. When Alonzo is not busy creating tangible change in his community, you will find him practicing what he preaches: working out, playing basketball, and just staying active. He also can’t turn down a good book or spending time fixing and riding motorcycles.
David is the General Counsel of Asset Risk Management, a Houston-based energy company that assists oil and gas producers with marketing and hedging advisory services, and also invests in various midstream and upstream assets. Between his undergraduate studies and law school, Dave was the founder and executive director of a nonprofit organization called The Youth Life Foundation of the Triangle, an after-school mentoring and tutoring program for grades K-5 in Durham, North Carolina. Dave is particularly passionate about JBT because it addresses a critical societal need, which transcends race, religion, and political affiliation. Dave believes that JBT has a mission that intrinsically benefits everyone. Although he is no longer in the tri-state area, he continues to be passionate in support of the organization he founded in the areas of legal and corporate governance, and in leveraging corporate funding from organizations. In his spare time, Dave enjoys working out. He is also an avid reader, loves to meditate, and has the goal of going to an NFL game in every stadium before he dies.
